II Plastics Processors Union Forum took place in Moscow last week

On May 21, which was the second day of the Forum, delegates visited the Klimovsk tube plant. During the first day, which took place in the Russian Chamber of Trade and Commerce authoritative representatives of the industry, state authorities and business support funds expressed their views on the market situation and possibilities for development.

President of the Russian Chemists Union, Mr. Viktor Ivanov noted: “Despite sanctions, chemical industry including plastic processing and polymer production grows more than 5% a year”.

Local leader of the polymer industry – R&P POLYPLASTIC – took active part in the event. Head of Research and Development, Mikhail Katsevman moderated the first day of the Forum and presented a report on the market situation and prospects for development of the plastics processing industry. “Polymer industry has great scientific potential and is a powerful driver for development of other manufacturing sectors. However, consumption of polymers per capita in Russia is way below the European level which has a negative effect on industry rapid development”.

Director General of R&P POLYPLASTIC, Alexander Pavlov talked about “Reduction of production costs as a key factor of the export potential of compound materials”. Within his report, he told about the company’s progress in reducing production costs, which became possible through the application of the Lean manufacturing program and recycling of production waste.
