A lecture on polymer materials for the cable industry was held for R&P POLYPLASTIC employees

On December 18, a technical seminar about polymer materials for the cable industry was held for R&P POLYPLASTIC employees.

The speaker was Ruslan Abeev, Candidate of chemical sciences, academic secretary of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus, author of a range of research works, certificates of authorship and trademarks and polymer materials engineer. In his report, Mr. Abeev highlighted the current problems of Russian cable industry, driving factors for development of cable production and presented a global cable market review. Special attention was paid to innovative polymer materials used for production of oil-submersible cables.

Problem of operation and maintenance of cables in the Russian climate lighted up the discussion. Lack of raw components on the national market is another important issue. At the end of his presentation Mr. Abeev identified the most prospective areas for development of the cable industry.

Development of polymer materials for the cable industry is one of the focuses of activity of the Russian compounder. It has great growth potential.
