R&P POLYPLASTIC: Supplies of polymer compounds for the production of large household appliances in Russia have returned to the pre-pandemic level

Russian market of large household appliances (LHA) in January-August 2021 demonstrated almost identical indicators compared to the same period of the pre-covid year 2019. Production of refrigerators compared to 2019 even increased by 2,3% in 2021, the production of washing machines was only 1,5% less than that of the pre-crisis level. Along with the large household appliances market, the market of polymer raw materials for the production of LHA has also stabilized.

 

The production of white goods dropped sharply in January-August 2020 compared to the same period in 2019: at that time, the production of refrigerators and washing machines decreased by almost 25%. Everyone felt the crisis, including suppliers of polymer materials. The second quarter of 2020 was particularly difficult.

 

"Our supplies to the manufacturers of white goods went down by a quarter during that period. However R&P POLYPLASTIC did not stop the work, and when the market made it to peak values in Q3-Q4 2020, we were able to provide all our partners with the necessary materials in time. We increased deliveries by more than 2 times compared to the first half of 2020 and ended the year with a significant final figure: slightly less than 27 thousand tons of materials were shipped to manufacturers of household appliances", noted Pavel Kruglov, General Director of Polyplastic Trading House, authorized commissioner of R&P POLYPLASTIC.

 

In 2021, the supplies of materials by R&P POLYPLASTIC to manufacturers of household appliances in the first half of the year exceeded the results of the same period of last year by 26%. Moreover, this fact, in the expert’s opinion, demonstrates that white goods market has stabilized and shows no obvious failures, as in 2020. Despite the volatility, rising prices for raw materials and the shortage of some materials, the industry has returned to a level similar to 2019.

 

Pavel Kruglov added that Polyplastic Trading House plans to expand the supply of materials to household appliances manufacturers in the coming years – this is one of the strategic goals in R&P POLYPLASTIC development.
